Meyers, formerly known as Yank’s Station, is a small unincorporated community about 10 minutes away from central South Lake Tahoe. In 1851 this area served as a Pony Express station, stagecoach stop and trading post. Every year, the Annual Wagon Train makes its way through South Lake Tahoe and camps out in Meyers at the area’s largest ranch, the Amacker Ranch.
The neighborhood is located at an elevation of 6,352 feet, and is one of the first neighborhoods you encounter on your way into South Lake from Sacramento. The quaint town of Meyers is a short distance from South Lake Tahoe. Approximately 3,000 residents enjoy this quiet community. Many live there for the various outdoor activities like mountain biking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, river rafting, hiking and golf. Meyers sits amongst various types of pine trees, some in existence for hundreds of years. This peaceful town is blessed with views of surrounding beautiful mountain peaks. Kirkwood and Sierra at Tahoe ski resorts are a short commute away. Meyers provides its residents with a grocery store, building supply store, restaurants and 2 golf courses, gas stations, offices and shops. South Lake Tahoe is just a 5 minute drive away.
